Dental Assistants & Support Staff

	Cailin Certified Dental Assistant Cailin has been working as a CDA for 5 years. "I love all aspects of dentistry - especially making people love their smile and improving it!" Her interests outside of dentistry are running, martial arts, travelling, and hanging out with her boyfriend, family, and friends.
	Cindy Certified Dental Assistant Cindy has lived and worked in Coquitlam for the past 26 years while raising her family. She has been a CDA since 1984. She has also completed her Prosthodontic and Orthodontic Modules as well as the Align Technology, Zoom, and Nobel Biocare training programs. “Working with such a dynamic team at Smiles Unlimited Dental is fun and exciting!” Her outside interests include running at Rocky Point or in Mundy Park with friends, watching her children play sports, and skiing with her husband.
	Janine Certified Dental Assistant Janine has been involved in dentistry in some capacity since graduating from Vancouver Community College (VCC) 25 years ago. She lives in Coquitlam with her husband and 2 children. She loves being involved in the community and family activities.
	Joanne Certified Dental Assistant & Office Administrator Joanne has worked as a Dental Assistant at this location for over 30 years (yes – she was a teenager when she started)! “I’ve seen many of our long term patients start treatment here as small children, grow up, and now they are bringing their children here. Our location has allowed us to be part of the local community. I see our patients at the shopping centre, sporting and school events. I enjoy working here with Dr. Jin and his caring staff.” Outside of the office, Joanne enjoys cooking, walking her two dogs, and volunteering at the downtown eastside dental clinic (Vancouver Native Health Society).
	Lidia Dental Assistant Lidia has been a resident of Coquitlam for 20 years and lives with her husband and two children. She has been at this clinic for 33 years as a chair-side dental assistant. Lidia continues to feel that she is part of a dedicated team who provides quality dental care to all patients. Family is an important part of her life. She is happy to find a healthy balance between home and work. Her interests include cooking, golf, and travel.
	Lindsay Certified Dental Assistant Lindsay obtained her CDA certification in June 2007 from Vancouver Community College and began working at Smiles Unlimited in September 2007. Spending time with family and friends, as well as maintaining and active lifestyle is very important to her. She enjoys running with her black lab, Jake, and playing sports such as volleyball, softball, and soccer. In the winters, she loves spending time at the local mountains snowboarding, as well as water-skiing and wakeboarding at Shuswap Lake in the summers. Traveling has become a recent passion after exploring Australia for 3 months in 2006 and backpacking Europe in the summer of 2007 with her sister. “It is the entire dental team at Smiles Unlimited which has made me feel so comfortable with my new career choice. While working chair-side with Dr. Jin, Dr. Lauwers, and Dr. Hachichou, I have been able to gain a wide range of experience within the dental profession. One day I plan on applying this valuable experience and furthering my education”. In the summer of 2009, Lindsay successfully completed and graduated the top of her class while undertaking the Orthodontic module program. Way-to-go, Lindsay!
	Luisa Laboratory Coordinator & Hygiene Assistant Luisa has been working at Smiles Unlimited since 2002. She enjoys sterilizing the equipment, preparing each room for the next patient, and ensuring that everything is in working order. “I take my job very seriously and enjoy working with everyone at the office. We have a great team here. Although I never work with patients directly - the fact that people have been coming here for generations to receive dental work (she and her family included) speaks for itself! I look forward to seeing you, even in passing, just to wish you a good day!” Away from the office, Luisa looks after her family and enjoys the arts – she purchases season tickets to Bard on the Beach and the opera every year.
	Jen Laboratory Coordinator & Hygiene Assistant Jen joined the support team of Smiles Unlimited Dental the summer of 2009. She finds every aspect of dentistry absolutely fascinating. Being a student, Jen aspires to possible career pursuits in health care. She actively participates in many organizations and serves as camp counselor for children with special needs. Jen also has an inextinguishable passion for cars and racing. Both Jen and her dad are common fixtures at the Mission Race track!
	Pricilla Laboratory Coordinator & Hygiene Assistant Pricilla joined the Smiles Unlimited team in the Spring of 2011. At work, she can usually be found in the lab where she is responsible for sterilization and keeping things organized. She takes pride in keeping the place and spic-and-span! She is keen on learning new things and is always there to lend a helping hand. In her free time, Pricilla enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, family, and friends. She also loves trying out new restaurants, enjoying the city, going on runs, and shopping.
